Sorry Ladies

Cant help worrying that there is something wrong with LO all the time. Cant imagine holding him/her in my arms as i just dont feel it's going to happen.

Not had any movement yet, which i'm assuming is due to my placenta being anterior but makes me worry soo much.

I'm not getting a 20 week scan as its not offered on the NHS and just cant see how we can afford to go private, but just cant bond in the meantime...feel like i'm missing out on an experiance i would love to have.

Sorry for the sulkies x

Hey Sparky,
sorry to hear your feeling like this. we all get down sometimes so your not alone and when your so far away from your due date it does feel like you won't ever get to hold your LO, i feel like this sometimes and feel like i'm going to be pregnant forever!
You should get a 20 week scan on the nhs, i got booked in for mine at my 12 week scan. You are entitled to free nhs treatment.
Hope your feeling better soon. Big hugs for you!

thanks hon for the  NHS Lothian, my board doesnt offer a 20 week scan..stingy *******s!

 It's not surprising you're feeling up and down, we go thru so many conflicting emotions being pregnant - add hormones and it's a lethal combination! I hope you feel better and I know it's all extra money but have you shopped around for private scans? You can get them from about £70 depending on where you live xxx

Aww hun! I completely understand how you are feeling and you are well within your rights to feel like that. I'm really shocked they don't offer 20 week scans because of the purpose of them (checking the health etc) so I'd be annoyed too

I also understand how you feel about the bonding thing. Only now that I know she's a girl am I actually picturing her... I needed to find out the sex for my own sanity I think!

Like mandspice said, you can get cheap(ish) private scans... I would recommend one. Even though the chances are everything is absolutely perfect in there, it would be well worth the money for your own piece of mind.

I hate to think that you're feeling so down :( I really hope you manage to convince your OH to dish out for a private scan, it'll make you feel so good xx

Aww hun, sorry to hear you're feeling like this.   If you are feeling down over this I really think it would be worth you paying for a scan.

i'm the same hun i haven't felt baby move yet, mw said that my tummy is growing normal and i've heard the heart beat so she said everything is fine

Aww sorry you are feeling down Sparky   If it makes you feel any better, I haven't really felt anything yet and my placenta is at the back

It does really sound like you could do with booking a private scan to help you feel closer to your LO. It might be worth trying to scrimp together some money. I just had a look on babybond (it's the only private scan company I've heard of) and their gender scan is £79. I'm sure there must be cheaper places near you. I know it sounds a lot but for piece of mind, it may be worth asking a family member to go halves with you?

Hope you feel better soon

thanks ladies, gonna save up and try for a scan..cant imagine never seeing bubs again before he/she is born!

Thanks again for all your kind words, youre all angels.

You poor thing, i can see why your feeling down!

Why dont you go and see your GP and tell him how you feel and about movements etc and how down it is getting you an cant be good for the baby (lay it on thick) and he may refer you for a scan to set your mind at ease!!

Its worth a try!!??

Best of Luck x x x

hey! sorry to hear you're feeling down, i was like that when i hadnt felt any movements, only started having them at about 22 weeks! where i am we dont get 20 week scan either, its s**t :x

all we have seen is 12 week scan where bubs is still the size of a pea, but we are determined to see him/her again so are saving like mad for a scan. we going down to aberdeen for it, and they do them in glasgow + edinburgh too! even just a 2d one isnt too expensive and it will put ur mind at rest (i think i am just as paranoid as you are!!)

will be worth it in the long run, its a once in a lifetime thing chick!

 It's natural to worry. You feel movements sometimes very soon though. Also the midwife will be able to make sure he/she is growing properly just by feeling your tummy.
