Feeling Deflated over baby nane

Jasmine is beautiful and a lovely nod to your husbands culture!

We really like Cooper for a boy and everyone is like UGH THAT'S A DOGS NAME

Fuck off and swivel I say. Yes there are dogs called Cooper but there are also dogs called dave! Initially it worried me but my first response when I heard Cooper was that I loved it so I'm sticking with my gut it was my partners grandads name!

Stick to your guns xx

I love Jasmine. We have a multi culture/language family too and it makes names soooo hard.

For what it’s worth, I think Jasmine is a really pretty name. I share your pain at having to find a name that crosses languages and cultures - my husband is from Barcelona and we want a name that his parents can pronounce but that will also work here.
We have that too haha there were some names I liked that even my husband couldn't pronounce so we had to rule those out right away hahaha x

Jasmine is a really pretty name. I don't think it's too common or chavvy either. I work in a school and we have 2 Jasmines in the whole school that I can think of, none at the last school I worked at and my son doesn't have a Jasmine at his school that I know of.

If you love it don't let your parents put you off. I think it's great that it works for both yours and your husbands cultures.

I don't like the name Tristan, but you know what? THIS ISN'T MY BABY!! This is your baby and you will call him whatever you damn well please! F*ck everyone else. A year from now all this will be forgotten and when you remind people about how mean they were about his name, they'll be embarrassed as hell! Start buying personalised things with his name on and post pictures on Facebook and display them around your house. That might shut people up for now ;) :bum:
