about a month or so ago we noticed a fatty lump on LOs back. It's like half the size of a golf ball, and asmaller one just below. Went to gp and they said likely to be a fatty lump (called limpoma I think) but we're having an untrasound dcan on it next week to be sure. It's taken a good few weeks for the scan to come round so I'm not really worried at all that it is anything welse. Just wondered if anyone else had any expereince of this?

Thanks

not really but I do get a fatty lump on my neck under my jaw bone it gets pretty big I got a scan on it and all fine they said if it got any bigger I could get it removed, but it comes and go's had it about 5 years now and I just notice when its there or not, sorry for not being much help hope all is well at the scan xxxx

thanks:) I'm not really worried as it doesn't hurt him. My mate's husband has one on his back and I think they're quite common...scan a week today, will let you know xx

Hey I thought I would upadate my thread, mainly incase anyone else has same prob in the future and wants to see what others expereinces were. So we went to the hospital for the ultra sound this am and the doc cam ein to do the scn. She ws lovely but Owen wasn;t very impressed! He was tired and wanted to sleep, so gave him the dummy to calm him (which he only ever has when goign to sleep) he then tried to go to sleep but couldnt as the doc was poking him!! nevermind!!

So anyway get to the point! She thinks it's not a fatty lump as it has a definite blood supply but couldnt see enough with her scanner (and Owen kept wrigglign, had to forcefully hold him down which he wasnt pleased with...) She thinks it's a birth mark type thing made up of blood vessels under the skin, Quite common apparantly. There can be 2 types, one which is present at birth continues to grow and oftne needs removing, another which 'appears' doewsnt grow and often just 'dissappears' about 2 years later. Sh ehtinks he has the second type. Having another ultrasound in a month in adult part of hosp as better scanner. She also scanned his spine and kidneys and said all fine.

Phew what an essay x
