Just been to the new health centre today and was told as of the 24th of this month all health centres in south lanarkshire will not be selling any baby formula, they couldnt tell me why or where i will be able to get it except the chemist and its £7.90 for the one Colby is on. If i find anything more about it if the gp surgery will be selling it i will be posting back on.

Anyone else's health centre stopping the baby milk????

our baby clinic was trying to stop it but every one kicked of such a big fuss about it that they still sell it now.

they were trying to stop selling it to promote breast feeding

Our baby clinic stopped selling it at the beginning of this month!

I think it is terrible for those who are getting milk tokens, where are they supossed to get thier milk?

My neighbour gets milk tokens and our clinic told her that they are stopping them and givin out food vouchers to go towards the shopping instaed. these vouchers will only be worth £2 each  how does that compare to a tin of baby milk! They give mum's on beneifits milk tokens to help buy baby milk and now they are taking them away and replacing them with voucher that will not even pay for a tin of milk!

I think its disgusting, people are going to stop giving thier child formula much earlier and putting their children onto cows milk because it is cheaper!
Then you get the people that will spend it on alcohol or other things rather than get milk for their child!

I don't know if the lady was right about them stopping the milk tokens, but if they do i really feel for mum's that are on benefits used to be on them my self and know how hard it can be!

Sorry for the rant!

a girl i no was on benifits and breast feeding but she was getting milk tokens so i used to buy them of her half price :shhh:
i hate paying for milk but still i will keep Harley on it until he is 1

My clinic has never sold it, I've always bought my milk from tesco at full price :(

Hi Jean

My friend lives in North Lanarkshire and her clinic hasn't ever sold formula - she mentioned to me in passing that she had heard S Lanarkshire were going to stop selling it, she thought it was for the same reason that Dionne said - to promote breastfeeding.

Hope you're well Jean

Lucy
