Ok my friend who has been a member of facebook for 6 months has had her account banned because she had breastfeeding pics on her profile..

this is her email she sent to them and the reply she got back..

I have been a member for almost 6 months, and I have finally been banned.

Why? Because I have posted pictures of myself breastfeeding my baby. According to facebook's definition, breastfeeding photos are classified as "obscene" and therefore need to be deleted. I got a warning, and now my account has been disabled. Here is a copy of my correspondence with facebook:

I received this email from facebook today. I am very confused as to which services I have been misusing. On the contrary, I feel that as a contributing member of facebook, I have valuable services to offer, such as a support group for children with cystic fibrosis, an online support group for new mothers having trouble breastfeeding their babies, as well as particiaption in various charities and causes.

I am very hurt that a moderator would accuse me of misusing facebook services, and I would appreciate a reply with a description of how I am doing so.

Never mind that 6,100 members have joined the petition group and posted breastfeeding pictures. Never mind the fact that facebook allows pictures of which man has the biggest c**k, and whose t*ts are bigger...there are hundreds of pornographic pictures, involving naked male genetalia, women spreading their legs, women inserting things into themselves, and photos of the actual act of sex, circulating on facebook.

Why are breastfeeding pictures in the same category as those forementioned? THAT is the point of the protest group. And I see we still haven't gotten our point across.

So come on girls....Please join the petition group!

yeah they should be reported becks, but breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world and to have been banned makes me sick!

I can only think that they have done it because it involves a child and although as you say breastfeeding is the most natural thing, it cannot be taken as certain that your friend is really the mother of the baby in quesion if that makes any sense at all, possibly they are covering their backs for child porography reasons. I understand that it must be so upsetting for your friend, but some people might misconstru (sp!) the photo, there are some very weird people out there remember!

I believe that such pictures are absolutely fine... but no doubt there are men out there who would enjoy them sexually. I know it's disgusting, but it's also the sad truth.

I understand why they wouldn't allow breastfeeding pics, even if I don't agree.

Thats my opinion too but I just didnt know how to word it
