valentine said:I have a regular Facebook cull - as I post information about my daughter and personal life on there, I do try to ensure that the only people on there are people I speak to regularly and care about.
When I first set up Facebook, I added everyone and anyone I'd ever passed the time of day with, then over time I've realised that that's not what I want to use it for - I want to share photos and information with people who are important to me.
When I left my job recently, I deleted people who I'd added while I worked there, 'cos they'd asked and 'cos I didn't want to be rude, but was happy to delete them as I had no intention of keeping in touch as we weren't close.
I have this conversation quite regularly with friends in real life, I have come the conclusion that I with there could be different categories of Facebook friends - work friends, University friends, school friends, best friends etc - and you could tick boxes while adding information to say what info was available to which groups of friends. There's things or photos I want to share with close friends but not with old school friends - but this 'selection' option isn't available and I think that's a Facebook flaw.
