Hi!
After some advice please on ovulation. I have a long cycle (33-35days) according to my app I am not due to ovulate until Fri 6th July (middle of cycle) yesterday and today I have noticed egg white cervical mucus. My last period only ended 6 days ago... is it possible to be ovulating already?

You can get ewcm for up to 6 days before ovulating. What cycle day are u on? I wouldn't trust an app with this at all...are you doing opks? If not and u r sure it's ewcm might be a good idea to dtd every other day until you ovulate. Your app says you'll ovulate in 8 days time but you already have ewcm so I'd say it's wrong probably.

Hi, I have 33 day cycles too. On the cycle I conceived I had EWCM on CD 7-8, 13, and 16-18 lol! Sometimes your body can hear up to ovulate and not actually do it. I DTD on all those days just in case but going by my due date I ovulated on CD 18. It's possible you're ovulating early, but your body is probably just gearing up to ovulate. You'll probably ovulate when you usually do.

In my experience apps are only good for gauging roughly when you should o and they only really work if you have super regular cycles.

As WW said, apps are good for gauging, but i would just 'listen' to your body.

This is what i have done and have got a better understanding of whats going on during my most fertile period, which subsequently changed slightly on the app when i put in the day i ovulated, which i am 100% certain of as it was the only day, down there that i felt unusual, so put that down to it being the fact i was ovulating. Prior to that for a few evenings i had ewcm. So all i can say really is dtd, as it could be a sign you are about to ovulate.

Thanks guys, I'm. Currently on day 11. No EW today. Mid cycle would say I will ovulate on day 19. I know the apps aren't accurate I was just wondering if ovulation would be wayyy fo early now considering my period won't come until around 21st July. What's Opks? Sorry I'm not goodwith the abbreviations ��. Iv had sex the last 4 days... do they say it's best every other day? Thanks ladies xx

OPK's are ovulation testing strips. Its almost a pregnancy test before an actual pregnancy test

This was my first month of using them as my sister said to me 'are you actually ovulating' and I, ignorantly said 'well yea I am having periods' - oh how wrong I was.

They test for a surge in the hormone that is high right before ovulation. They're unnecessary imo, but worth trying if you have no idea when you're ovulating.

It reassured me that i am in fact ovulating, if nothing came up i would have been gutted, so was surprised to see there was something happening right before my fertile window.

They do sayy wiith these tests the line that comes up has to be as dark as the control line, but i struggled to get a line that dark, so just dtd when i got the strongest reading, then everyday after the first tests i got ewcm, so i knew something was happening.

Then on one day, it feel strange down there, like something was happening - told my sister and she knew straight away i was ovulating, as she has always known when she was, as she could feel it. So that day we dtd also.

I got 5 packs from poundland and if i get a bfn next week, i will continue to use them, just for reassurance really, but i can see why some people dont bother, if you know its your time, its your time.

Thank you! I have just purchased myself some cheapo strips. I can see a very thin and faint pink positive. Do these work similarly to preg tests where they will get darker as you get closer to ovulation? And do you know how long ant kind of positive will show for during the ovulation winDow? Xx

Usually a pos is a line as dark or darker than the test line although for some women it's just nearly as dark. Some people have a pos for more than one day. When you get a pos you are likely to ovulate in 12-36 hours.

Any line is better than nothing I found at the start, but then after that you do really want to be getting very dark lines. They are a bit opposite to pregnancy tests in a funny sense, well to me they seemed it anyway. After 10 minutes the line you get is the best reading, then after that it gradually fades - well this is what mine did anyway.
