whos watching it?
i always say ij not but i do  if its just for wogans catty remarks!

what do you all think of the UK entry?

Gotta be the french one aint it or that dodgy boy girl band that were around years ago schooch or whatever theyre called.

Liz mclearnen, brian harvey and justin hawkin are probably to well known and although they're not, probably to good.

try living in Greece. It's a really big thing over here and the locals just dont understand why I cant get enthusiastic about it. when they're choosing the Greek song that is all that is on the tv for weeks!!!!!

I used to LOVE this and get really excited. Holding Eurovision parties, the works, (God, did I ADMIT that ? )

However, now that the UK are hated so much and never get any points I can't stand it. It's always been political but now I find it so frustrating I end up chucking things at the TV!

Who won to be our entry?

I REALLY REALLY love Eurovision. We alsways have a big party at our house on Euro night with a shrine to Sir Terry and food from lots of european countries. We have a sweepstake and silly flags.

Last year I even got my ICT class involved by doing a Eurovision Project where they had to make Videos, score boards, posters etc

I really wanted to go to Finland this year to see it live for my 30th birthday...but was stupidly expensive for just three day holiday. I hope we win this year so that I can go to the live event in England next year! :cheer:

We're having a small Making your Mind Up gathering tonight. Not full blown party, just friends and drinks and maybe a DVD after.

Yeah, I know music is crap and cheesy....but any excuse for a party!

Hi

Im living in Australia now but i love the eurovision. When is it on?

I am not watching it...It is just the politics and everyone hates us anyway .

I

the Eurovision and STILL hold parties!!

Terry Wogan is a god on that show.... he is so funny with the bitchy remarks!! "oh look, Norway gave Sweden 10 points - shock there!" :rotfl:

Did you know when watching it, if you put on subtitles if they are singing in their own language, it'll come up in English..... sooooo funny!! A few years back someone was singing about SOAP!! I kid you not!

I think that Justin Hawkins will go forward for us! He's the best of a bad lot!

I won't be watching I'm afraid.......I used to LOVE it when I was younger (& love Terry and his remarks) but last year I really got soooo bored with it as its turned into a show where people judge the countrys' entry on the current politics/ governments decisions rather than on how good their song is....

....I also have no idea how finland won last year

Who is UK's entry this year?

I love the Eurovision (unfortunately I missed it last year though).

When I was younger I used to tape them  lol

My hubby hates it though so I always end up watching it on my own *sob*.

I just looove Terry's comments on the show they crack me up.

How the hell did scooch win?!?!!?!?

GRRR

and that bit at the end were terry fecked up....

poor cyndi she shud have won...

terry shud publically apologise. that poor girl thought she'd won for a few Seconds then it was ripped from her!

I hate poppy crap like scooch, what aload of cakey crap :x

so im not the only one who thought that schooch were poo and we are deffo gonna get 0 points in may!!! lol

Don't think we're going to win with Scooch, however, we were all quite entertained by them...dead camp, very cheesy Eurotrash. They remind me of Steps.

We thought Big Brovas might have done it, although I can't stand that sort of music. (Don't know what genre it is)

Eurovision is great :cheer: Terry Wogan makes me LOL and I think Scooch are fun, very Steps-a-like too hehe

Hope you all enjoyed your parties, they sound like fun!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

im glad scooch won.Cyndi was good but scooch was a fun camp song.To me thats what eurovision is all about!!!
x x

I do agree. As good as slow songs are, I think the fun/intentionally crap ones actually do better as so many countries all pick lovely ballads and something a bit different is a welcome change :)

I thought scooch's song was really cheesy but a bit clever in some ways because they mention places from around Europe. Also the gimmic thing may work out because last years winners won it on theirs.
Did anyone else think that Cyndi's song sounded a bit like You raise me up?
