Engaging heads?

When I was @ the midwifes today I swear i thought I heard her say she was more down last week she was 3/5ths engaged and this week shes 2/5ths engaged
so is the way they measure it going down 2 one or zero?
just wondering...

Did you have your scan today?

Some midwifes calculate it as 3/5ths meaning that's what she's got left to go. In that case 2/5ths WOULD be further down

hehe i would have thought it would have made more sense it going up but hmm i did think she sed she was further down but when i refered to notes it had gone down in 5ths so it must be lower? lol

i think it depends on the midwife, some will put 2/5ths meaning 2/5ths is free, other will put it meaning 2/5ths engaged, you will have to ask

i meant to do this with mine as mine was also 3/5ths 2 weeks ago and not sure if she meant that was how much free or engaged

Honestly it completely depends on the midwife, they're all trained to count it different!

Either way, there's obviously no worries or they'd have said. My baby wasn't engaged at all until labour!
