So after 3 weeks of stop start contractions, aches and pains, and worries over itchy hands and feet and low platelets. Emma was delivered as planned by c-section on Monday 17th Feb!
Had to go to hospital early to check my platelets as if they dropped too much they would have to give me a blood transfusion prior to op to make my blood clot. My anxiety was for nothing as they went ahead anyway. Just got bumped from first on the section list to second, as the woman due to go after me was complaining so much about being scared. Like the rest of us weren't in the same boat!
Anyway. At 10:20 am we walked round to theatre. Had a little freak out with cannula being put in my hand, and the fact the anaesthetist seriously only looked about 12! Took a while to site my spinal so had a nice conversation bout wine with the other over seeing anesthetist, then the op started. Registrar too about 15 minutes to get through previous section scar tissue, then after a bit of pushing and pulling and baby getting a bit stuck as they yet again said I was having a small baby, Emma was delivered weighing a whopping 8lb12.5oz at 10:56am
After OP, surgeon came to speak to me, and apparently I'm a very lucky lady as my womb was so close to rupture she could see through it to my waters underneath prior to cutting through. This is what all my pains had been. She said I should have had baby delivered at 36 weeks when the pains started, and advised I should not have any more children. Can't complain with the 3 I now have, and a step daughter, so just count myself lucky I'm here today.
So we had 51 hours in hospital total, then home to start our new chapter
