Well Elora decided she is now going to wake up at 4am... 6am... and 8am for either a feed or just a scream (shes finding her voice so has taken to scream in the early hours of the morning. Not because shes in pain or hungry etc, just because she wants to lol)

Told HV that Elora is now waking up and not sleeping through 11pm till 9am like beofre and she suggested that it was time to start weening her. Which we did. The first 3 times she took rusk no problems. But after that she wouldnt take it at all. So we bought baby roce and she hates that aswell. I know all babies dont like food at first... but she wont take it at all... keeps spitting it out. Any suggestions??

no advise, sorry luv.

just wanted to offer hugs

Perhaps she isn't ready, babies have a good knack of knowing what's good for them. I do feel your pain though as Leorah used to sleep through from 10/11pm until 8am but has bought her bedtime way forward to 7pm so now wakes at 4/5am for a feed. It was 2am for a few days but I started to cluster feed from early afternoon as with her earlier bedtime she wasn't taking so much milk in her waking hours. Have you tried a dream feed? It works for some.

When Leorah wakes calling for us we go in and give her a cuddle but act very boring not speaking and give her a dummy until she spits it out and put her back to bed, maybe if Elora sees you are not up for any playtime she'll start to not bother calling for you!

Good luck :D

We dont give her any attention at all at night. I made that misstake with my son when he was a baby. I used to pick him up and play with him everytime he moaned. So I am totaly different with Elora... we give her no attention thoughout the night when she wakes, just put her dummy in her mouth. Unless she wants feeding, so we feed her. But we dont talk to her or even give her eye contact during the night. :?

I give her a dream feed about 11pm when we go to bed, as Elora also goes to bed between 7-8pm.

Think im going to have to nag the HV into helping me sort Elora out lol

It looks like Leorah and Elora are doing the same  . I love the fact that she goes to bed so early but our house is on one level and until we go to bed she often wakes up and I am guessing its because she can hear the TV and us moving around in between sleep cycles, I try and feed her hoping it will maybe help her go until later in the morning but she just isn't interested. I don't mind her waking up at 4/5am as she goes back to sleep but come 6am when my DH gets up she wakes up and is wide awake and I still want to sleep. This mornming I heard her stir when he got up so quickly ran to her room and bought her back to bed and we slept until 7.30 so this is my new tactic :)

Are you still breastfeeding? My HV told me not to expect a BF baby to go the whole night so I am just pleased she goes 9/10 hours.

Good luck for tonight and I hope you get some good sleep

They sound as bad as each other  lol

No im not breastfeeding anymore  (touchy subject) I stopped about a week ago. I was ill so didnt breastfeed her for 2 days because I was being sick. When I felt better I tried to breastfeed her, but my milk wasnt coming out as fast as she would have liked so she was creaming and seemed really frustrated. So now we bottle feed her

I felt so guilty and upset, I still do. But shes being fed and thats the main thing.. well tahts what I keep telling myself anyway.
