eek, why did i say yes to going swimming?! opinions needed!

I am pooing myself girls!

I am going to go swimming with my friend (31 weeks pregnant), her 18 month old son and her partner. She rang me about an hour ago and caught me off guard, so I said yes. Now I'm wondering why I said yes!!! I have only got a bikini that fits I have some horrible stretch marks on my thighs and my tummy that I'm immensely self conscious of....do you think it's a bit disgusting to wear a bikini and flaunt them to the world???

Not at all disgusting, i wore a bikini swimming while heavily pg and it didnt seem to bother people, watch out for getting out of the water, the weight shift is quite strong, have fun xx

People will be more worried about their own imperfections to worry about what you look like . I love swimming, just too big to heave myself out of the pool now .

I think you look great! There are a few girls in my aquanatal class that wear bikinis and they look great, too... No funny looks for them. Swimming is the best feeling when you are pregnant- I really would recommend you do it!

I hope you decide to go you look lovely, i went last week and squeezed into my tankini and a old lady told me it was lovely to see a pregnant woman in a costume as in her days they had to cover up,i did feel self conscious but it was so relaxing to sit in the warm water,and there was plenty of big women there who wernt pregnant so made me feel better!!!!enjoy swimming.

Yeah go and have some fun... Also remember 1. you'll be wet skin always looks better and you dont notice things as much if you're really consious have a wee shower to wet skin just before the pool, thats what i used to do and 2. you'll be mainly in the water anyway so no ones going to even notice.

Also from your pic I see nothing wrong, go and have some fun girlie!!!

I bet u have a wicked time, i remember going swimming and i used to get a packet of crisps from the machine afterwards, why do crisps taste so lush after swimming?? Anwyay off topic but there u go

Awww thanks for the lovely compliments girls I think I will brave it, although I will get in quick! Luckily it's one of those pools that gradually slopes down to the deep end so I won't have to haul myself in and out with a bit of luck! Oh, and it's got a wave machine too! Woo!

Glad your going to go, im sure you'll enjoy it! Ive been swimming twice this week in my Tankini and it was really nice in the water! Hadnt been swimming in years so it was nice to do something different for a change aswell. x

Trust me, you have nothing to worry about! You barely have any marks at all. I have at least ten times as many as you, and many people have a road map across their whole bellies! I think people are going to be wowed by how good you look if they are paying attention, not disgusted, and I mean that!

You look great and will be in the pool most the time where you will be all concealed by water and shouldn't feel self concious your talking seconds to get from the changing rooms to pool and same on way out so even if you do feel self concious out of the water it wont be for long and the enjoyment of the swim will more then make it worthwhile! I could never reach the bottom of my belly button, but i still can now!! Chances are you will be abl to as well.

I loved swimming heavily pregnant, but i wore a tankini (no bikinis fitted my boobs) and everyone stared, but in a good way, and another lady used to wear a bikini all the time (a tiny one at that) and she looked beautiful

Go swimming and be proud of your bumpage! I practically live in a bikini at the moment and swim a few times a day and even if there are some old farts that dont approve, who cares!!
