as you all probably know already, I suffer with palpitations everyday. I finally received an appointment from the cardiologist to have an echocardiogram (ultrasound of my heart) done on 24th. I would imagine this is a safe procedure in pregnancy for obvious reasons but i'm still worried as i'm not sure if the cardiologist knows i'm pregnant as I was referred back in march. did any of you have one done while pregnant?

I had one in my previous pregnancy. No problem whatsoever with you being pregnant - the equipment they use will be the same that they do baby scans with really. Is your cardiologist aware you're pregnant? The midwives may refer you anyway and they might keep a closer eye on you just in case.

(If it makes you feel any better about things, I had palpitations throughout my last pregnancy, and there were no concerns at all. Midwife got a bit jumpy in labour when contractions pushed my heart rate up to 170-180, but that was the worst!!!) xxx

I second tiggers response. They didn't seem concerned when I had one a few weeks ago but you should let them know as pregnancy can affect the way your heart works so what may be normal during pregnancy may look abnormal if you weren't for example.
