basically i sold a load of stuff on ebay and posted it 2 weeks ago.
Everyone recieved their items, except one person that claims they havent recieved it.
He has paid, i have a receipt (which i cant bloody find) from the post office saying ive posted it, but what happens about this? i dont really know where i stand, everyone else recieved their items. it wasnt worth much (think he paid £6) but im annoyed as i know for a fact ive sent it! and i checked paypal, i printed his postage label and everything, just not sure how you know the person has it or not? can you just lie and say you never recieved it?

hiya hun he will have to wait so many days before he can lodge a complaint then you will need to provide proof of postage if you cant find this then im not to sure if you will have to give him a refund if you dont he can claim through paypal but this will go against you

ive just found the receipt thank god! think he may have filed something because items that i have sold since the payments are being held! grrr!! i definately did send it and its on the receipt with his house no and postcode which the girl at the post office wrote on there for me. really going to piss me off if they have lied or the parcel gets held up! :wall:

Hi

If you have sent something recorded (so its got a tracking number) they have a massive bag log we sent something on the 17th dec and 20th december and its still not arrived. If you have that number let him have it so he can see its in the system. Or is it just proof of postage that you have??

X

Yeah I just have proof of postage. Not recorded or anything. Hopefully it's just taking ages to get to them. X

i think its 2 weeks after u can take it up with royal mail,

ive had the same b4, and paypal ended up refunding them without me even having my say so im sure he received it and just lied about it and got refunded,

i didnt end up taking it up with royal mail cos it was wen i had Layla but really wish i had cos it realy peed me off,

u cud send the buyer a photo of the receipt to show that u have sent it to assure him u are looking into why its not been receved yet and try n keep them on side so they dont claim it back through paypal without u knowing,

good luck hun

xxx

Unfortunately they don't really like proof of postage as evidence. I've had his several times and paypal have issued a refund after me scanning in the proof of postage for them to see. What you really need to to send it recorded delivery so it has to be signed for to say they have received it, well worth the extra pennies. You might loose out through paypal but do claim through the post office as they do accept the proof of postage and you also need to supply the ebay sale page and paypal transaction. I managed to claim back some stuff from the royal mail that way. I think they say about 15 working days until you can claim, so remember there's weekends in there too that don't count. Good luck!! There really are some chancers out there!

You are insured up to £31 (actually probably more now - what's a first class stamp? It's 10x that) if you sent first class by Royal Mail, but don't mention that it had anything to do with ebay when you claim as they can be a bit funny about ebay stuff x

Lol thanks girls. I went to post office yesterday and she said if it hasn't come by Friday it's classed as "lost" and I should be able to claim it back through the post office. So I guess that's ok. It pisses me off though, i read in the daily mail post is still being delivered from Xmas! So who knows? X

it is a pain that paypal refunds them because it goes against your ebay point thing not the feedback thing but something else it annoyed the hell out of me and havent used ebay since grrrr

So does that mean I will get bad feedback? And be penalised for it? X

The other person shouldn't leave you negative feedback if they've had their money refunded, and if they do you will be able to appeal to ebay since it wasn't your fault, I think.

Unless they open a case against you through ebay/paypal there will be nothing against you, and I'd never leave negative feedback for a seller if something got lost and I was refunded. And as long as you're being helpful I can't see why they'd need to open a case - it's more a last resort if the seller isn't cooperating x

That's alright then! Lol! I just can't work out why my funds have now been suspended on paypal. Little bit annoying. X

I'd forgotten about that...that's really strange. Maybe he has opened an INR case through paypal then? I'm sure it should show somewhere. Might be worth giving paypal a call? Did he just contact you and say it hadn't arrived - you haven't had any emails from paypal or anything? I assume they'd contact you if something was opened. If it was an ebay case it should show at the top of the page (I think) if you go to My Ebay > Selling x

I think Paypal can just be a bit shit sometimes - I once sold a book for £1 and charged £2 postage, so got paid £3 via them. They took 30p commission for themselves, and I sent the book, then a week or so later, they cancelled the £3 payment as the buyer didn't have the funds, even though the payment had already cleared and I'd already sent the item and they'd taken their cut! So in all, I was out one book, £2 postage and 30p commission to them, all through no fault of my own, and the comeback from them was as I hadn't sent it recorded delivery I had no protection. Doesn't make any sense, but put me off them a bit. Totally irrelevant to your issue, but an example of how they can surprise you with weird rules!
