Has anyone used a dummy thermometer for your baby? Are they better than the forehead or ear ones? Are there any other types? So confusing...

I have a dummy one and it takes friggin ages!!!! its crap...

but the best one i have is a sensor one that you hold close (but dont touch) the forhead, its great, no more screaming baby while your trying to hold a head one against the head or hold on in babies ear!!!

:rotfl: Hiya i say dont get the dummy one,i hate them!Lloyds chemist have a nurophen ear thermometer fo9r children with accessories its a god send 4 £9.99! THe forehead ones advise not to use them b4 4 months!

I have a real issue with these lol! A thermometer on a dummy? WHY???

Enough to make you paranoid!

I used a feverscan with DD (forehead strip) Its 14 years old, cost £2.99 and is still working and was never wrong :)

We have a dummy thermometer and wouldnt have anything else, its a philips one and is really quick, was an absolute godsend when tia was really ill last week

we have a ear thermometer, and Maheen does not seem to be bothered when we use it...and we have used it a lot in the last month! :(
Anyway, the positive side of it (I would never have thought abt that, though!) is that now, when we take her to GP and he wants to check his ears, Maheen is completely ok with it, and does not try to run away! 3 GPs we have seen + 2 duty doctors in A&E have actally commented on it, so it made our life easier!
The downside, is that I don't always find it reliable, I always check 4 times (2ce in each ear) because it does not always read the same temperature.
