Due date and can't stop crying

I went to the hospital yesterday and they examined me and said i was 2-3cms dilated, i have been having irregular pains for 2 weeks and lost a bit of plug two weeks ago, the doctor has booked me for induction on the 24th and all i have done since then is cry, i can't bear the thought of not being with my two wee boys on Christmas morning.

The doctor gave me a sweep and i have had a bit of bleeding since then and cramps all last night but nothing today again, if i don't go before the 24th i will be breaking my heart at not being with them for Crimbo morning

Just thought i would share my misery, i'm off to keep kleenex in business.....

Aw hun is there a reason they're inducing you then? Can you ask to go in on Boxing Day instead? They've not even mentioned an induction date for me yet but they're happy to let me go 2 weeks over my DD at my hospital.

Hopefully you won't need an induction anyway, the signs are all promising that you've not got long left anyway

They are inducing me on the 24th as they don't want to wait until the 26th as my blood pressure has been high and they can't give me any other dates....

Hi,

Xmas is an unusual day for them to induce. I understand that you would want to spend time with your family. Could you not ask for a different date? You have good reasons for not wanting to be in that day, having young children etc.

Like Maybebaby my hospital is happy enough to let us go 2 weeks over DD before inducing. My last appt was at 39 weeks where they found leukocytes and protein in my wee so sent me up to the hospital for monitoring for a couple of hours. I was examined there and all the midwife said was that my cervix was "posterior" but not able to be seen properly so I guess I'm a long way off having my baby yet. My next appt is at 40+6, ie next monday where I guess they will discuss induction dates for some time after that so I guess I have a long time to go yet - if baby does decide not to make an appearance naturally. I've been wondering lately when I could have a sweep, but guess I will find out next monday.

Like I said, stay positive. You've had a sweep now and you've had some signs that labour is on its way so maybe you won't be needing the induction on xmas day.

they will only let you go 12 over due here which is why im booked in for sunday but im hoping to go in on my own before.

hi ya hun i know exactly how you feel if my baby doesnt come they are also inducing me on the 24th, and i desperately want to visit my family who live 120 miles away and they cant come to me

i sat on the corner of my bed and bounced (same thing pretty much as my bed is very bouncy) and im sure i bounced levi back up

Xmas is still some time away, so fingers crossed nature takes it course. I've got an induction booked for sunday which I would prefer to avoid. This evening I've nearly burst the pilates ball
