Dtd every day or every other day?

Just wondering how many people follow the every other day approach in order to maximise sperm quality or do you not think it has an effect? Anyone got pregnant using either methods? We've been doing every other day as instructed by fertility doctor but wondering about doing both CB opk peak days this month.

My doctor told me doing it as often as possible is best. The sperm quality is unaffected, just the amount of sperm per ejaculate.

Ive tried egg meets sperm plan as good results apparently. This recommends dtd every other day from cd10 and tge 3 consecutivw night when you get positive opk with 4th night off and then one more for luck on 5th night! Not sure if its worked yet as only 1dpo.

I pretty much DTD every day and it worked for me, we generally DTD quite a lot anyway so we didn't really change it for TTC x

Thanks guys. Think on the basis of this we will try every day for the peak days then. First month I've had 2 days of flashing smileys. Really hoping it's not going to be a weird month. Fingers crossed should get a peak tomorrow.

We don’t BD that much to be honest. Only like 3 times in my fertile week. Maybe that’s why it’s not working for us but I just don’t think we can BD that much anyway as we are nearly 40 with full time jobs and a 4 year old also our stamina is not like it used to be

We were really struggling with dtd enough so we switched to AI...it takes a lot less energy and you can time it perfectly. My fertility doctor said every other day was optimal, I just wondered what everyone else thinks and if there really is a difference.

The month I conceived was the month I gave up trying to get pregnant for a few months we was dtd every day pretty much and sometimes more than once and I never laid with legs in air afterwards as we had decided to stop till next year so I pretty much went to loo after, good luck xxx

Im now wondering if i need to dtd tonight aswell? Have done it last 4 nights. Got peak and positive opk sunday but as im older think i ovulate quicker than younger women after i get lh surge....not sure if we can manage it again tonight as we are 41/42 and i agree stamina is not quite what it was! What do you girls think? Should i be ok or do i need to dtd again tonight....poor DH!! We are both shattered but if it improves chances we will find energy from somewhere no doubt!

If you got a peak on Sunday morning then I think you'll have ovulated by now. I'd have a rest!

Phew! So glad you said that! I think ive ovulated too as being older it happens a wee bit quicker. Might put my feet up tonight....but in a different context haha!

On our first we did it everyday, took us a while, we are trying the eod method now.

I read every other day is more than enough ,
I try DTD every other night or every third night in my fertile window and then as and when it happens throughout the month
As I feel it's very easy to go overboard DTD and then it becomes less of a intermacy and fun time and it suddenly can feel more of a chore which then both parties lose interest.
But remember the sperm can live up to a week but the ovum lives for about 12-24hrs after ovulation and the sperm needs about 9-12 hrs inside of ur body to get ready.
Just remember to have fun and it's all about timing

Thanks Babycakes. I was told the sperm lives for 3 days in warm weather but only about 48 hrs in winter. I did not know that they need 9-12 hrs inside your body to get ready - that's soo helpful. I use CB advanced which gives me lots of notice. Am now on 3rd day of flashing smileys, which is a bit weird as I usually only ever have one day.

I do remember something about once the sperm had got into position in the fallopian tubes they have to do little exercises to get strong enough to do the next step...

We always just dtd every 2nd day ...and maybe 2 or 3 days in a row on pos opk but on 11th cycle and last 10 have not worked! ...I don't think it matters how many times it just has to be the RIGHT time so it ends up being all about trying to cover as much time to to capture the right moment ....I guess some ppl nail it 1st time...4th time and like me are still unlucky. Hoping our luck changes soon. We could drive our self mad when to dtd...did I miss it...etc. I say every 2md day covers it ...if you can do every day then go for it...we couldn't do every day...it is hard enough every 2nd day for 11 months in a row.
