dreamfeeds

How do you dreamfeed when breastfeeding? There is no way Jakob will latch on when he is asleep so does it come later when its more established or? he will now dreamfeed on a bottle but tends to wake up halfway through anyway.

any ideas?

Hi Cassi, I initially woke Ellie with a nappy change for this feed until she dropped her 4am-ish feed. After that I lift from the ct and gently rub my nippke under her nose. She then roots and latches on without opening her eyes. She sometimes comes off when she has finished, sometimes doesn't. I hope this helps.

All I can say is that I was sure Joe would never do it and about a week ago when I started lifting him for the dreamfeed he started not waking and drinking the whole bottle asleep. He did wake when I done the nappy though. This coincided with him sleeping through.
