Hi Guys, I've not been on here for ages but wanted to know if anyone knows about dream feeding? I've been told it is a good way of getting our little ones sleeping through from early on. You feed your baby without waking him at set times as its natural instinct for them to suck and feed in their sleep :?

it doesnt help Ellis sleep right through but if i feed him at 9.30 (lift him asleep and wiggle the bottle in his mouth till he sucks) he will go till about 4. if not he will be up at 12am.

There has been a few posts about this in the first years nutrition and feeding section....I didn't have aclue what they were talking about at first! lol have you done a search?

If you go to the search button and type in dream feeding you should get a list of posts that have already been posted, try this and then if you have any more questions ask some of the mums on here........

Good Luck!

Charlie goes to bed at 7.30 and i lift him to feed him between 11.30 and 12, he then goes until about 4am when he gets a tiny feed 1-2 ozs and then goes back to sleep until about 7am. If i didnt lift him at that time he would wake about 1 and again about 5, so it works as it means only one night feed.

i tried to give madi a dream feed at 11.30 and she took all of it an stayed alseep but she was still up at 2.30

We did it with Keiran and it worked a treat. We are hoping to do it again with this little one. We found he would go much longer and then eventually straight through. Don't know if it works for everyone but it certainly did for us.

Alfie is sleeping through now but before he was i tried giving him a dreamfeed and because hes a greedy little monster he woke up all excited, and then it wud take ages to get him off to sleep.
