I thought I'd have a happy 3 weeks, it's already starting to get sad.

As I mentioned earlier have had to pack o/h's military blues in case he dies and has to have his funeral in them. Have just finished doing this and don't want to be negative but can't help thinking that it could be the last thing he will ever wear - it's really upsetting.

he had to have his DNA taken today in case he can't be identified visually if he's killed.

I had to be briefed on what happens to any money that comes from his death the other day - like paying off mortgages and who gets what.

They had to have their "death photos" taken too, the ones that are put on the tv in the event that they die .

They say it's such a small chance that anything will happen to them, but with what I've had to listen to the past 2 weeks it's nearly like he's facing certain death and it's freaking me out before he's even gone.

Just had to get that bit of misery out of my system before I go to the inlaws- gotta be chirpy for them I suppose.

Oh Princess, I cannot imagine what a horrifying time you must be having - You must try and stay positive, God knows it must be so difficult to..I dont even know why Im saying that as I have no idea how you are feeling inside. All I can do is send you lots of  xx

Thanks girls
It's not like me to be a misery guts but it's just one depressing thing after another at the moment.

He's on the front line, same as last time. He's a weapons specialist in the marines and has his own section of about 8 lads to command.

I've seen his video's from the last time and you can literally hear the bullets whizzing past his head!! He bought himself a blast proof camera to go with the last time lol and still has it.

Sorry you are feeling so down, i think its understandable from what you have said you have to do before he leaves.
I don't know how you feel so all i can send is :hug::hug::hug:

im close to tears just thinking about this and what u must be feeling like.

id be begging him not to go!

big hugs huni x

I do keep wishing I could make it so that he didn't have to go - lots of wishes for a big lottery win (or even one that's enough for him to retire). i keep spontaniously bursting into tears at the thought of it but my work is a great distraction.
I was talking to my sergeant about it today, cause they are being really, really good and making sure that I'm ok and keep wanting to be kept up to date with what's going on. I managed to talk with them about it without getting upset but the closer it gets the weaker i feel!
Ah well, I'll get used to it one of these days but doesn't stop the dread feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Sounds so familiar  regarding the big lottery win. Glad that your work are being supportive - forces do tend to understand a bit more, I feel - but  anyway. Nothing I can say that'll make it better but just keep an eye out for the R&R date - the sooner he's away, the sooner he's home!
