Does anyone know about bankruptcy?

Im asking because my poor hubby is up to his ears in debt and even with a payment plan and iva its not really helping.

Has anyone gone bankrupt? can they explain to me how it works because ive looked at all these different sites and they all say something different.

My OH did it about 2 years ago. It lasted for 10 months but because he earns quite a high wage he has to pay back a certain percentage for 3 years. But unless your hubby earns quite a bit that won't apply. It costs about £400!
You have to be recommeded for bankruptcy by an advisor. My OH used these

Get in contact with them and they will go through all your finances and tell you the best course of action.
My OH contacted the CAB who wouldn't help at all as they had to many cases to deal with.
