Right... I'm confused lol!

So I came off the pill On 23rd Jan, had withdrawal bleed... and now, and apart from Brown/pink CM and cramping... nothing.
Opks are only faint, HPT are all BFN...
so thought I would try and check my cervix, so if I can find out what's going on.
TMI now... but I don't know what I'm feeling.
I googled, and apparently I'm feeling for a donut shape and that is either open or closed.
I THINK I felt a soft donut that felt open, but my discharge isn't clear, it's more cloudy, and my opk has been clear and barely there.

So confused, just want to know if my body is working yet? I know its not gonna happen straight away, but I'd like to know what's going on so I have a better chance.

Can anyone help?

I've not been that successful in locating my cervix ha ha! When you are approaching your fertile window, your cervix is supposed to be high and soft and wet. After a couple of days you should get EWCM which is your most fertile cm. it might be that you are approaching your window but not there yet, if the lines are faint. Keep checking as they should get darker you will hopefully then notice the EWCM...I think for most women EWCM lasts for 2-3 days but some get it for longer. I've use preseed this month as was worried I wasn't producing enough, but actually I was it was that I was expecting it to arrive earlier. X

So glad it's not just me Melly! I was scared to post this but now I'm super eager to find it!
I wanna do the opk's but find it hard as a I work full time, and don't fancy doing them at work! Lol!
Might kept trying every day just to see what's going on?
It's crazy that i have had this body for 30 years and I don't know where my bloody cervix is LMAO!

Although I'd guess it's more than I'm not familiar with the changes that I don't know more than anything x

Ha ha! I did opk's at work. Used to sneak into the loo and then have to hide the stick for 10 mins! I bought myself a very cheap plastic tub and washed it out thoroughly and then popped it is top of dishwasher to sterilise it, At least they are cheap so doing them daily isn't too bad...I used them twice a day when I thought the lines were getting darker or around the time when ovulation calculator predicted I was likely to ovulate. The key with checking cervix is to do it same time every day as it does move around. If you feel the sort of ridgey/bumpy bit, it is after that. I cannot really tell if it isn't open or closed. I check mine after a shower and lying on my bed....forgot to close my curtains one day....can you imagine if the window cleaner was due that day! Ha ha! Will try giving checking position another go after af decides to bugger off!

Oh that did make me giggle Melly. Need some giggles, starting to get a bit fed up already, just because my period hasn't turned up. I think I could get used to trying if I knew my period was regular.

I think if I crack how to watch my cervix, when I think it's softening up I will use some opk sticks... just can't keep randomly testing cuz it will cost me a fortune! Lol x

Ha ha....watching your cervix sounds funny! It will get expensive I guess if your having to keep randomly checking. You could also chart you bbt...a bit of a pain having to do it first thing but it usually helps you to identify when you have ovulated....this is no good the first month you are ttc as you can only tell once you've ovulated and at that point your fertile window has gone! I guess is is also good for identifying when af is coming as your temperature dips noticeably....well mine does. I got excited thinking it was an implantation dip but it wasn't it was just :witch: arriving!

Oh man ☹️ Yea I may do that too after a couple of cycles. You seem really clued up on your cycle/body, so fingers crossed it happens for you soon!
Thinking about it I had a sharp twitch on my left side yesterday whilst at my desk, which made me stop what I was doing, that and the CM, and if it is my cervix that feels soft, maybe i ovulated yesterday? Oh god knows. Sod's law we havnt DTD for 3 days aswell so probably missed it if it was!

Arghhhhhhh!!

If you ovulated yesterday and dtd 2 days before than you might be ok. Im more clued up now but thats due to the girls of the forum helping with that!

Everyone is really great.
Makes things a lot easier x

Hey Babyno2! I used to check my cervix DAILY, yes a bit obsessive but it gave me an idea on what high, low, soft or hard meant. I'd also collect some CM in the process as it's sometimes easier than when you just wipe it.
Although I must say that a couple of days after conception, I had a lot of conditioner-like CM during a day or two but my cervix remained low and hard. It stayed like that even a week or so after I got my BFP. It varies apparently from woman to woman.

I check mine. I've found for ovulation etc it's fairly useless. Position varies throughout the day anyway plus supposedly your cervix is supposed to be low for AF whereas mine is usually very high.

However, the twice I've been pregnant it was very, very soft in the days leading up to my bfp, which I get a day or so before AF is due. So I now know that is a sign to look out for.

The trouble with cervix checking is that everyone is different, as Kitana says. You can't compare to what other people have, you just have to do it regularly yourself and find out what is normal for you.

I don't get ewcm at all so that's never been an indicator for me but I do use opks and always get a really strong positive on day 14 or 15. I've temped a couple of times and that has always confirmed the opks. I just use the cheap ones from amazon.

Good luck.

Thanks ladies that's really helpful!
I've checked again this morning and seems very similar to yesterday. Will keep trying tho and see how I get on!
Xx

I don't check it manually but can tell when having sex roughly whether it is low or high! (sorry if thats tmi!) I check CM, BBT, and usually opks. Can't find it anyway! It's meant to be a good method.

Oh sunflower u often wonder about this.
I sometimes feel different when we have sex.. is that what u mean? X
