Do you let baby choose when they've had enough??

Usually, after about 45 minutes, when he's not really sucking, I'll pull him off due to my impatience. I've let him just keep going this morning, and he's been on for well over an hour! At 9 weeks, this seems a bit much. I think he's just using me for comfort after a point (I don't really mind though).

So was wondering if everyone else's lo decides when they've had enough or you do??

A only feeds for ten mins apart from at bedtime hell comfort suck for ages and I let him for a while

Serena pulls off when she's done... but i always start on my right boob as it's much smaller (i have proper lopsided boobs now ) and it doesn't produce as much milk... when she pulls off there i always put her to the left boob and she comes off when she's ready....
You can tell if they're comfort sucking if they're not swallowing xx

I normally let max decide he's 9 weeks today sometimes will have mini snack but a lot of time its 25-30 mins

When he's stopped sucking and is lay there laughing at me with my nipple hanging from his grin usually at 3am I take him off and give him dummy to settle with as I know he's not hungry just using me for comfort

I think in the early days it's good to let them suck plenty, even when it's comfort sucking, because it helps establish supply, but it's okay to cut it short sometimes especially as they get older.

I usually end up taking lo off as she comfort sucks and I get very sore. At night she would stay on hours if she could!

mine never let go lol, DD1 would comfort suck on me the whole time she slept if id let her and poppy is the same, she feeds for 30 mins or so and then just falls asleep usually and comfort suck, if shes just woken up and isnt tired she might let go by herself but its rare. an hour is my limit at 11 weeks i take my boob away if shes asleep and only give it back if she wakes up and headbutts me for it lol
