are you looking for a digital slr or just a digital. I have had a few different digital camera and the one i have got now is the panasonic lumix Fz18. It has got an 18x zoom lens on it which is fantastic. It isnt a compact tho.

I've no idea what sort, but its the first one lol :D

As you can tell i'm great with digital cameras :rotfl:

digital slrs are a lot more expensive and i think harder to use.....?

I love photography and have thought about getting an slr but like the simplicity of my digital.

If you have an email addy, pm me and i can send you some wildlife pics that i have taken with my panasonic.

i've pm'd u. i've had 3 different cameras now and they're all the little ones like the second link and i cant get on with them

My OH just bought me a Nikon D40. It's fabulous. Very easy to use but then I haven't exactly used anything other than the point and click settings

If you want to stick to the point and shoot range and not go up to the SLR side of things (where the big price increase also comes in) then I'd suggest a Canon Powershot S3.

I've had the S1 and S2 models and they have both been great. Really good functions, video and zoom. And loads of other things. And not huge and no need to fuss about with lenses.

Just get a decent size memory card, mine holds hundreds of pics and about 40 mins of video footage. A few sets of batteries and a charger and I'm away.

You can find cheaper prices online also.

OMG Its so confusing, knowing what sort to get and then once thats decided, what model etc.

TBH its what you want from a camera and its usability.

If you want a good lens and zoom etc then you need something that will do the job. A half arsed compact digi won't cut it picture quality wise.

The link I posted is to a digicam review site. You can review all the latest makes and models there in brief and full. They are pretty spot on with their reviews and know their stuff. You can also view pics taken with each camera and see how well they do their job.

ye thats what i want, the pics with my old one were never that good

I'm still learning mine. But it has as many settings as a professional camera. I use the basic at the mo.
This one is of a 7week old kitten. It's on the Macro setting! Notice it picks up the cat hair on the mat really well! Lol
