Digital camera help!

Iv just bought a new digital camera and it keeps doing photos like this...

What could be causing it? Also its making all the images BMP not JPEG Anyone know?

What kind of camera is it Jenna? Did you buy it from a shop or second hand?

Its a Fuji Finepix z10fd. I bought it brand new off ebay, it was all wrapped up and everything. Iv messaged them and asked them if they'll replace it. Iv figured out why its doing them in BMP now but i dont know why the pictures are rubbish. Its started taking them properly but im still worried because i dont know why it did them 1st few like that

Maybe just cos it had never been used before. If it's started taking them alright now I would just keep it. If it's brand new it should have a manufacturers warranty anyway so if the seller refuses to replace it after a while, you can ask Fuji
