well i also would say Loo-see-un. But i guess you can try the name from the movie Gladiator?? it was lucius. maybe it is sound closer to the name you want)

I'm no help because I pronounce Lucious as LooSeeUs, and so naturally saw Lucian as LooSeeAn.

Is there really anything that terrible about LooSeeAn?

I think you should stick with it anyway, as others have said, and just introduce him as LooShun. People will realise quickly enough.

Loo-shun

I am a Latin teacher though and as said above the name Lucius would have the same sound in it. The answer is that however you choose is the right way! Drives me nuts that my parents insist on pronouncing my brother's daughter's name wrong though - they just can't remember to say it right which for the bloody grandparents is pretty bad! X

I would say Loo-chan

Its an italian name correct, i think thats how they pronounce it

I'd say "Loo-she-un".

It was one of the names I really quite liked but my OH didn't :)

It's like "St Lucia" is pronounced St Lu-sha, so someone from there is a "St Lucian", so I'd pronounce it Lu-shun. However, I have friends who say St Lu-sia (which is very annoying), so someone from there would be a St Lu-si-an to them. Same with your name :)
