Dave's in hospital *update*

Hes been there since 10.30 this morning and ive just heard that they are keeping him in overnight. He was doubled over in pain this morning with cramps,I thought it was cystitis, but apparantly not!! He has stones,we will know which ones when he has his x ray! He has had some morphine for the pain and they want to keep him in in case the pain gets worse!
Anybody had this??
So baby is in bed and im sitting here wondering what the hell to do with myself x

Dave is coming home today he has to go back though in a couple of weeks. He has 2 kidney stones and managed to pass one, now just waiting for the other one if it doesnt come out then will have to be removed...ouch!!

Oh no, hope he gets well soon, he's in the best place.

I would put your feet up, order a takeaway, pour yourself a glass of vino and settle down to a film or x factor.

I've been having exactly the same problems recently! - Signed off for 2 weeks as it keeps coming back.

I can honestly say its really painful! - They gave me morphine in hospital, when the pain stopped i was allowed home as they couldn't see how big the stones were on the x-ray and the pain was under control, but i keep getting flare ups so i've now been reffered to a specialist!

Apparently its alot less common in men, if they think that its kidney stones and that they are too big to pass they will probably help reduce the size by either lazer treatment or minor surgery to remove them, sometimes the stones are small enough to pass so they he may just be kept in, given pain killers and be made to drink LOADS until they pass.

Gall stones are different not sure how they sort those.

Don't worry too much, he'll be OK i'm sure they will look after him.

I've had gallstones and subsequently had my gallbladder removed. its REALLY painful, I ended up in casualty in excruitating pain. The op was done with keyhole surgery, it was fine and I recovered quickly. Hope he gets better soon.
