How many of you have taken a gamble and put your childs trust fund in to stakeholder accounts? Im not sure wether to or not. I cant believe i still havent invested this cheque, im so crap!
If i get a good intrest rate on a savings account, would this be beter? What would be a good interest rate?
Any advice or reccomendations? I was hoping to put £25 per month in to the account from Charlies child benefit ( I guess it IS her money, and i just blow it  )

Hi hun not sure about a stakeholder account . We have put Jacob's cheque into the Yorkshire Building Society Child Trust fund as it had the highest interest rate. He was given some money for his christening so we have invested that into it too. I know what you mean about child benefit, it's helping me at the mo cos I am on crappy maternity pay, once I am back at work and getting real money we are going to put some money into the account every month for him too.

Xxx

I put Jacks into one in a leaflet i picked up at Asda, i can't rember the name though sorry

got a £30 goerge voucher whe i had put £10 in from Direct Debit

I wanted to put Lydia's into Asda non-stakeholder account, but I lost the voucher!
Looked EVERYWHERE and couldnt find it.
Anyway I remembered reading somewhere that if you don't invest it before it expires, the government invests it for you into a stakeholder account so your child doesn't miss out - and then you can swap it over at a later date to whever you want to put it.
So I'm waiting for some news about that. Then I'm gonna put it in the ASDA one.

I wouldn't put it in a stake-holder one. I'm not a fan of taking risks - esp. with money lol.

Rebecca's is in the Halifax-not stakeholder. We pay £20 per month D/D, but the more kids we have I don't know if I would be able to afford that with them all!

We put Jamie's in the Nationwide childrens trust fund

I put both ours in the natwest one, gotsome free vouchers to!!! :cheer:
