Hi
My baby is 10 days old today and after failing BFing  i started feeding her SMA gold but this gave her terrible wind and after reading a post on here about it i switched to Cow and Gate Comfort, but after about a week on this shes beginning to seem really hungry, she has a full 4oz bottle using a slow flow teat (Avent)
I was just wondering what i should do, i was thinking about switching her milk.
If this is relevant she was 8lb 4oz when she was born, after 3 days shed lost 4 1/2 oz and now she weighs 8lb 11oz

most babies lose weight. alice went from 6lbs1oz to 5lbs 12 oz. As long as it is less than 10% my HV said they tend not to worry too much.

I would try increasing her feed by another oz. Not sure if that is the 'right' thing to do,but its what i would do.

hun it may not be the milk dont forget your LO is growing at a rapid pace and if she is emptying the bottle at every feed give her another ounce soime babies are just hungry babies, but tbh i spent so much time tthinking alfie shouldnt be drinking that much that i realised i was not giving him as much as he wanted i kept going by the tin etc, in the end i thought sod it id do what i thought and at 3 weeks old he was emptying 6oz bottles every 2/3 hours and thoroughly enjoying it

I have been feeding my LO comfort and I think you have to use a medium flow teat as COMFORT is thicker than ordinary milks ( think there is a little leaflet in the box) and yes I agree about upping the ounces.

good luck

i have been toying with comfort milk as luke has been unsettled, mentioned it to health visitor today and she said the same as above you'll need bigger teats as its a lot thicker and maybe she's getting frustrated with the slower flow. i had luke on sma and he was very windy i changed him to cow and gate premium and after a week i think he is now starting to settle down and get used to the change. give it some time and persevere if it doesn't work you may have to change to another formula, different formulas agree with different babies.

good luck its awful when they are unsettled i do symathise xx
