Hi, I think my little lady who is almost a month old might be constipated. She hasn't had a proper dirty nappy in 24 hours. She keeps popping loads. She usually strains when she goes and is in discomfort but hasn't shown any of this though I did introduce a small amount of gripe water yesterday. Loads of wet nappies. She is bf mostly with formula at night. Just wondered how long any of you have gone without them going. She seems to tiny not to go at all.

My lo has had a couple of occasions where she's gone 2 days with no poo but lots of wet nappies. It'll be an explosion when it comes! The times it's happened with us it has not stayed in the nappy! I've heard they can go a few days without

My dd is b/f and tends to go every 2-3 days. I spoke to my hv and she said its fine as long as she's not in pain or discomfort

Hi Alex used to go 3 x a day and in the past 10days has gone down to once every 1.5 days and when he goes it's an explosion that goes up his back etc! The HV said they can go two weeks without pooping and unless it's hard poohs when they do go then they're not worried about how long it takes them. Personally I think 48hrs is too long so we give Alex cooled boiled water and that usually results in a dirty nappy within a couple of hours x

For bf babies every 2-4 days is very common, my LO is ff is still only goes every other day, as long as they don't seem in pain and the poop looks normal it should be fine xo

Well she finally went 3 times with an explosion, just had to give her another bath. Problem is she is uncomfortable with it :( seems ok now, if it happens again I will try some cooled boiled water. Normally she goes at least 4 times a day which is why it seemed a bit worrying.

Is it ok to give cooled water if breastfeeding? X

Karen I was wondering this but I keep coming across things saying to give it for constipation.

Poor munchkin now got a temp of 38. Waiting for call back from the out of hours Dr, she hasn't been herself all day really. :(
