Well, we went to mothers for lunch today and whilst we were chilling out waiting to eat I started to have the most awful pains. It was like a stabbing/sharp/pins and needles right up inside me and then all around the right hand side of my bump. It hurt to stand, sit and move around - it actually brought tears to my eyes. I started to wonder if there was something wrong with my cervix as I had a pessary for thrush the other day and I know that it clings to the vaginal wall for a few days.

I was so worried that something was going wrong and my OH was on the verge of taking me to the hospital. Then..I though I would try and go to the loo. Ten minutes later and the pain had gone but I had to struggle - realising that I was probably constipated means that everything from All Bran to dried apricots have gone onto my shopping list for tomorrow. What a horrible frightening pain, later my OH admitted he was very worried  and had thought the worse.

Anyone else had this terrible pain from constipation? I cant believe it since I eat loads of roughage!

ive been having the pains hun (my hospital post) but mine is down to diarhoea and my god do they hurt. its as if it coming from the womb area isnt it!!! terrifying xx

yep Ive been constipated for the last week and I get some pains too, not as bad as you described but its so scary cos I wonder if its hurting baby!

:( It really hurts doesn't it hun? It's normal but that's no consolation :(

I aint been getting pains but iv got bad constipation :( and when i have it my piles from where i had my daughter really play up for about 2days after :( think im going to be living off fybogel for a while again! x

Is fybogel ok to take? I went to the pharmacy at about 9 weeks and they said they wouldn't give me anything. That would be nice to have some, ahem relief!!

on the box it says for pregnant women, i think you have to get it on prescription tho although i think on ebay they do it! but yea its deffinatly ok to take as iv been having it, since very early in pregnancy and as far as im concerned my babi is forming perfectly so cant see it being any problem, its only fibre :) go back in the pharmacy and ask for it if not get your dr to do you a prescription :) x

Thanks Becks!! My OH would go and get it, just say it's for him. I'm not too bad just now but I think the iron in the vitamins I'm taking isn't doing me any favours! I'm a happy girl, small things eh!! :)

Haha well hope you can get it soon if you need it! its always handy to have some in the cubpoard tho! x

oooh i do sympathise with you hun. Ive just recovered from one of my "wobblers" which ive had everyday for the past 2 weeks! Its a wave of extreme cramping and pain which is only releived by a nice well you know...but it is agony. My doc even referred me for a early scan which i had today funny enough due to the pains and everything in the baby dept seems good and it is indeed down to my bowels. I guess its all part of the package but very painful all the same :( I thinks i may get some Fybogel.... Oh heres to a nice visit to the powder room

i will admit now if u havent taken fybogel before its not the nicest but u drink it fast or it starts turning to gel in the cup but its brilliant once it gets to work x

Hahaha i should start selling the stuff! Everyone says to me "how can you take that its yuk" but iv tried lactlose and that made my stomach cramp really really bad and iv heard alot of ppl say the same and so i just stuck to fybogel, why would anyone want so much pain just to go to the toilet?! x

Yeh! I cannot believe how much it really hurt - Ive stocked up on All Bran and apricots today so hopefully that will sort me out..!

I've been having prunes (bought from Holland and Barrett, soaked overnight in a little bit of apple juice) every morning on my porridge and this seems to help a lot!!

That sounds nice, I puree them sometimes and then stir them into porridge :) should have bought some today :wall2:
