Noah hasn't pooed in 24hrs. He's currently mixed feeding (formula and breast). When he has formula its the Cow & Gate Comfort version which is made to ease colic and constipation. He's been on this type just over a week.

He's really distressed, trying to push a poo out and goes red in the face and seems really frustrated. He's trumping a lot too and they really smell. I just don't know what to do to help him :(
My mum suggested cooled boiled water with the tinyiest bit of sugar in it.

How long should I leave It before telling a doctor?

I have the same problem with this formula. I give my LO cooled boiled water and that seems to loosen her up. If hes struggling try lying him on his back and cycling his legs and pushing them back into his tummy for 6 seconds and then letting him straighten them out do it quite a few times, it worked for me and was told to do this to help for colic as well (all to do with the intestines apparently) It seems to help the colic but bungs her up. Im trying to peservere with it though and see if it clears XX

The only thing that's worked for lily is warm boiled water..
She used to go over ten days without a poo and her farts really smelt bad! Try rubbing tummy and wiggling legs etc too..
They say ten days max. 24hrs won't concern them unless they are in bad pain..x

Iv had this prob yesterday and today and chemist gave me lacctlose and it seems to be helping , took it at 2 and she went at 6 but still straiining hard now so will give her some more before bed and hopefully she be back to normal tmrw

shes only 3 weeks and they said it is safe for her to take

My wee boy was only going every 3 - 4 days and was awful upset. I said to the health visitor and she sent me to docs with him. He has been put on lactulose which has made him a bit happier and has went today and fri so fingers crossed its workin. Doc thot he mibi just had a wee block so needed a clear out.x
