Every evening from around 7 ish to half 10 ish the little man wants to take up residence on my boobs! He's still on it now! He's a boob squatter!
Now he does sleep well once he's off, until around 4.30am which I'm made up with but I'm just a bit fed up with the hours of constant feeding before hand.
This has been the case since he was born (he's 7 weeks tomorrow).
He falls asleep, I put him down, 5 mins later he cries til he's on the boob again.
Anyone else having this problem? x

I remember sitting there hours on.end. I was told our supply is the lowest in the evening? Ot maybe he is getting his share before the.night sleep? I know my friend expressed some in the morning to top.up.in the evening

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Have you tried expressing some earlier on? Or have you tried giving him a dummy if he is just comfort sucking?

You have my total sympathy hun - I love bf but its hard when you feel like a milk machine! Lol hope you get it sorted hun xx

I'm poo at expressing and he hates the bottles, with a passion.
I'm not into dummies, that's not an option.
He's finally asleep now but he's literally sucked me dry!
Maybe it's just a (long) phase???
Hope he stops doing this soon, he's great all day and then turns into a limpet at evening feeds x

Think you will just have to stick it out in that case :( they say the first 6 weeks they feed often to establish supply maybe your little man has got his dates mixed up lol xx

My little guy is the same but it's from about 12-4 pm and then again at 6-10. There was nothing left but just went and drank loads of water and juice and supply was back up but he just kept showing he was hungry. At night he's really good though and only feeds quickly. Just feel like I'm almost part of the sofa at this rate. X

Mine does that too CG.
Edith will be 9 week on Tuesday and we have exactly the same issue.
She gets grouchy from around 6 ish then feeds pretty much constantly.
Sometimes she will fall asleep but if I dare to move her away from me before she is ready all hell breaks loose! Generally she will go down somewhere between 10 ans 1!!!
Last night she fed till midnight and this morning my nipples feel like they are going to drop off. On the plus side though she slept from midnight to 7.30!
We have been trying the bedtime routine thing, bath at 6.30 then ready for bed and stay in bedroom until asleep but I found I spent 4 hours nursing her so last night that went out the window and she came in the lounge to watch x-factor!!
We also dont use dummy and Edith struggles to take a bottle so think we are stuck for a few more weeks.
Like you i'd just like an hour or 2 in the evenings for me!!
I keep being told that by 12 weeks they are over this and start going to be earlier so am just going to ride it for now.
Hope you and your little man are well xx

When i was bf, Cam was like this in the evenings.

I was told that it is completely normal for babies to want to feed more in the evenings as they are putting their order in for tomorrow and ensuring plenty of milk for the following day.

XX

Glad we're not the only ones! It's hard though be ause I literally cannot get a thing done x

Bethan did this every day from day 1 up until last week. It was exhausting! I know how tedious it can be

In the last few days she has gone to sleep at 7, I have my evenings back!

Hang in there, it will stop! In bethan's case she stopped feeding a little bit earlier each night.

Do you still have plenty if milk at the end of the day? The reason I ask is that I didn't so T used to spend hours there at the end of the day. I found moving my evening meal to 5pm helped shortened the amount of time he spent BFing as it increased my evening supply.

Love the thought that its because he's putting his order in for the next day - makes sense xx

My little one is on expressed milk and on a night I can not fill him!!! Sometimes he is having 2oz every hour or so xx

I tried moving dinner but everytime I start to eat even if he's fed. He wakes up. It's like he has food-dar lol. I think t cluster feeding is getting better. It was 15 mins every hour from 4-7 last night. Yey. X

Yes, there's plenty of milk, I think he's just a hungry little man xx

That's good news, hopefully it will continue to get better x

Our nights seem to be getting later and later!
She used to go down between 8 and 9 and the last few nights its been midnight before I've got her in her own bed!!
She has fed constantly from 7 ish till midnight. Regularly falls asleep on me and I put her down then 5 mins later shes up wanting more food.
It's very relentless!!!
On the plus side it usually means that she will then sleep till 8.30 only waking once for a short 15 mins feed.
She then sleeps for most of the morning, she went back to bed at 9.30 today!
I find it hard as my OH works shifts so this week he is working every evening till midnight. So where as I would normally get at least a 20 min break while he held her I regularly have no one to hand her to. On these days I rarely get dinner as can't stand to hear her screaming :-(
Its good to know that we are not alone though and I would rather a baby awake the beginning of the night than in the early hours!
