Feel like I should have posted this a year or so ago with a noob, but ok here we are Ryan appears to have conjunctivitis apparently caught from nursery today. Looks like green bogies but in his eyes.

They mentioned that if hes still got it in the morning he shouldnt go in as its contagious (what about the kid who gave it him then????!!!! grr) but that you can get stuff either from the doctors or boots, and if he has that stuff with him they'll let him stay.

I refuse to take a day off work again for something that's their fault anyway (sort of) so does anybody know what the shop bought stuff for it is called that I can get tonight to be prepared? I did a search for conjunctivitus/tis on boots website but nothing came up and the eye medicines on there didnt mention it. I have boots and supermarkets available at my disposal.

Thankoo!!

It's old fashioned name is Golden Ointment. I *think* it's now called Brolene. You can get Optrex Infected Eyes from behind the counter, but I'm not sure if it is suitable for little uns! Although it'll be useful if you or OH get it (it's THAT contagious!)

Poor Ryan, hope he feels better soon!

Doc prescribed Oprex infected eyes to Jake a few weeks back, hope it clears up soon

Just to let you know (thanks guys!! :D) I went to boots and they said Golden Eyes ointment, or Bromene (?) eye drops (2 different brands). I went with the ointment as I thought (and so did the reasonably old pharmacy lady) that it would be easier to get into his eyes than the drops.

They said there is an antibiotic one but only for 2 years +.

Thanks guys :) So glad I managed to get something for it... it did take 3 pharmacy assistants tho lol :D

Yay! Well done, glad you got something sorted.....and that I was going along the right lines with the golden ointment! I'm not that blonde after all! :rotfl:
