I went for the morning after pill first thing Monday morning, but for some reason I'm convinced it hasn't worked. I was due on this week but still haven't come on. I've been getting nauseated and getting pains in my lower back, neither of which I normally suffer with my period. Am I being overly paranoid in thinking that I'm pregnant? I know the chances may be slim but I can't help but be convinced that I am. Has this happened to anyone else?

Also, how long should I leave it before taking a pregnancy test, assuming I don't come on?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey there and welcome to the forum!

The earliest you can test is if u are a day late! Early I know but baby could still already be in there...

You could wait but to put your mind at ease either way just get yourself a test as they are normally quite reliable...

I would personally suggest taking the test with a friend there, when I had mine I was on my own and although I was happy it felt very strange, Luckily my frienwas close by so i went straight to her house.

I hope you get the result you are looking for.

P.s with regards to symptoms different women have different ones some even have none! I have had lower back pain and strange tinglings in my lower tummy and VERY sore nipples which is why i thought i was...

If you think you are the changes normally are right...

Let us know the result!

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to leave it until the end of next week, and if I still haven't come on I'm gonna take a test then.

Will let you know how it goes, thanks. :)

What are you going to do if you are pregnant? you obviously dont weant one cops you took the morning after pill.
I hope things tuern out ok for you

If I am pregnant I'd keep it, no questions asked.

Aside from the fact that I'm 17 and single, I took the MAP because circumstances are difficult, and I wouldn't intentionally want to have a baby in these circumstances, but if it happens then it happens. I'd still love it just the same.

hope you get the result your hopeing for

Couldn't wait any longer so took a test - Negative, then AF arrived about an hour later.

Thanks for the advice though everyone. :)

My hubby and I had an accident when we were first going out 11 years ago and I took the morning after pill. It was very unlikely that I would have conceived but took it anyway.

My next period never came but that was probably due to stress more than anything else. I took countless numbers of tests just to make sure that I wasn't pregnant for about 8 weeks.

I have a friend that took the morning after pill and took what she thought was a period 4 days later. Turned out that she was pregnant, but I don't think she took the pills correctly. Sorry if this worries you.

Take another test in a few days to be sure babes, but remember it could be stress or the pill that has messed up your usual cycle.

Let us know how you get on. xxx

Yea my AF seems different to normal, I'm getting horrendous cramps and that, still getting nausea. I bought a twin pack pregnancy tests so I'll take the other one in a week or so just to be sure.

I think you are doing the right thing. it's best to find out either way.

Try not to get too stressed about this as you've did all you can by taking the morning after pill.

I hope everything turns out exactly as you plan, all the very best.

I'm getting a bit worried now, although my AF has arrived I'm still suffering from backache and stomach cramps < it's normal for me to get cramps but not the backache. I've also got a constant need to pee and finding myself very tired all the time. Could this mean anything?

Would it be worth taking a test now? I took one last Saturday, but that was literally a week afetr it happened so it may have been too early.

There's no harm in taking a test now, especially as you last took a test a few days ago.

I'm wondering if the morning after pill could have caused some of these symptoms, though. What did it tell you on the information leaflet?

It does have a list of possible side effects, but I've had it before and never had any of this. The side effects cover some of what I'm getting, such as the cramps and tiredness, but this should have been in the couple of days after taking it if I were to have any, the nurse and the leaflet don't say anything about it affecting me this late on? Its been over a week since I had it.
