Confused over blood tests!

Hi all I'm currently just over 15wks pregnant with my first pregnancy, I had the nt text for down syndrome done at my 12 week scan and it came back low risk. I contacted my midwife about my 16 week app and she said as I'd had that done all I'd need is bp and urine check no other bloods- I'm a bit confused as i thought they tested at 16 weeks for other probs baby may have! As this is my first pregnancy any help or advice on the subject would be fabby thank you xx

Noooo as far as i know and thsi is whats happening with me... im having 3 setsof blods done throughout the whole pregnancy... 12 week ones then again at 28 weeks i get blood forms and then again at 31-33 weeks i think...
The midwife apppointments up until this will be to have urine tested, bp, listen to heartbeat and later on start measuring you...
Heaven forbid if i had to have bloods done at every appointment.
As fro looking for other problems baby might have they check all the organs at the 20 week anomally scan and if they detect anything firther tests are offered.

They check for other problems at ur 20wk scan.
My 16wk mw appt was just testing urine and hearing LO's heartbeat x

Hi Heather,

I had my midwife appointment yesturday and all she did was check Wee, Blood Pressure and go through my bloods from First scan and booking in appointment and listened to babies HB which by the way is amazing! She didnt even weigh me, ( i weighed myself though) lol

It's our first too I have a step daughter who is 12 and she is desperate to go pram shopping lol!!!
I know it's such a surreal thing can't wait till I can feel it moving etc xxx

She was 4 when I met my husband so missed any baby bit!! A lot of my friends and older sister have just had babies so I'm hoping to get some practice in before august lol!!! My niece is 3 wks old today and so cute n tiny xxx
