Hi I've woke up with a dreadful cold, sorethroat, achey etc. Is it inevitable I'll pass it on to my baby as I can't help but be breathe on him etc as am breastfeeding and winding him :( is it dangerous for him to be around me or to catch it? I feel so guilty

Don't worry hun, it's unfortunate but there's nothing you can do. The only positive thing you can say is that it will help build LOs immunity.

Your breastfeeding so that will help baby fight a cold too, BFing does amazing things! Dragonfly Fi was saying on here recently that your baby's saliva will send a message to your body to make the goodness baby needs to fight the cold, and that during BFing it will help baby to breathe through the snuffles too. Amazing!

Other than that though, at your LOs age, there is little you can do except lots of cuddles! Don't worry though, my OH had a cold when our LO was your age and he never caught it xxx

Thanks so much, that's really reassured me! Wow I knew breast milk was good but that's amazing so glad I persevered with it now!!

I heard that you should carry on bfing too as your baby will get more immunity from you, great stuff breast milk! Hope you feel better soon x

all my family had really bad colds when my lo was born and she never caught a thing and we think my husband had swine flu but a mild form x
