When I lived in Liverpool you could get a chip barm, but it was on a cob (roll) not bread.

i say sarnie but thats with sliced bread..if u go to a chippy in liverpool u get a chip barm (its on a barmcake as opposed to sliced bread) but my hubby calls it muffin and he is from lancashire. (H also calls a bus a buzz so he is very strange...oh and a window sill is a window bottom acording to him and MIL... )
