We were given £100 by Poppy's great nanny to start a bank account for her. I've got no idea where to start! What sort of trust funds or child bank accounts are available? Can anyone advise me please?

no child isa available until november. we just went to natwest and opened a normal junior/child account. this can be uograded to an isa (swapping banks or not) once that option becomes available.

I opened a bank account for my LO with Halifax as they're offering 6% interest for a year. After a year you can either carry it on at a lower interest or move it somewhere else. You can even close it and open it again the next day for the 6% interest again :) You can't take any money out and you can only put money in with a standing order which comes out each month so no cash which can get a bit confusing but it works :)

we just opened a barclays childrens saving account. its in both mine and lo-s name and i have control over the account until lo is 16!
you can withdraw from it too!

i get his child benefit and tax credits paid into that account, so they are nicely going up in amount!!

we opened a Santander child account, it's in LO's name but OH and myself are trusties and so we can both put money in or take it out, and LO can't until he's 16! seems quite good so far!
