child trust fund

i was just wondering what child trust fund account everyone has for there babies as i really dont know which one to use when we get it through

I put keeley in a nationwide savings account they do for the child trust fund... i haven't really done anythin with it

But i am thinkin of movin it to an isa account if i can

yeah it gets sent to you but keeley's took about 8 weeks to come then when i gave it to nationwide it took them 6 weeks to send me any paper work

everythin takes sooo long

I'm not sure but i mite go and ask tomorrow as an isa has a better interest rate i think as long as its a savings account we must be able to

Eloises is with Britannia as we didn't want a stake-holder one, we just wanted a plain account.
We're not planning to put loads in it - just what our family give her for birthday money while she's young etc.
We're setting up a seperate account that we control.
With the child trust fund one - they get all the money when they are 18 - if you have thousands in there -what's to stop them p!ssing it up the wall!!
We just want a bit in there so that she can have fun with and then we'll have a decent amount put away for uni or a car or to help with a deposit for a house or whatever she needs really.

PS - you can't put them in an isa
There are only a few accounts you can put them in.
The website might tell you.

i mite just leave her trust fund where it is then and open an isa myself for her and put £10 a month in the isa i guess...

It explains the accounts - somewhere there is a leaflet that shows every bank that does CTF's and what they offer, but I cant find it
