Child Maintenance is Changing....

I had a letter about it in the post this morning.
If your on benefits and child maintenance is being paid for one or more or your children from October 27th 2008 you will be allowed to keep £20.00 of the maintenance which will be paid directly to you and it will not affect your benefits........

It's about time!!!!

Just had a peek on their website. I'm not on benefits so that bit isn't relevant but I'm pleased that you can now take the 'absent parent' to court yourself and the courts enforce payments!!

I just need to be able to afford a solicitor now Hopefully I will next year because 10 years without paying a penny towards the child he fathered is taking the p*ss!!
