Do you get £69 a month for EACH child you have under the age of 16?

Don't worry, Im not planning to have loads of kids to get more money!! Me and OH are just wondering.

Yeah you currently get more for your 1st child than any others you have but I believe they are trying to change it so that you get the same amount for every child.
I also read that they are going to start paying out child benefit what you are 29wks pregnant?

didnt know bout the 29 week preg thing but did know about them trying to get same amount for all kids as if u have twins one has £69 the other the 2nd etc child rate

You get more for your 1st. For each child after your first you get £11.70 per week...£46.80 per month :)

Ok thanks :D

The conversation came about cos we were discussing how people with 4 or 5 kids manage to buy presents for all of them! Christmas is expensive enough with one! I suppose your money goes further if you budget though :)

We manage because we're both busy around Christmas and charge extra through December. If we had more normal jobs and weren't self employed, we'd have to budget for it all year or get the credit cards out, we'd certainly have timed the boys birthdays better
