I know - I would never leave Arianna in the car!

scary thought, Id never leave my children in the car. :shakehead: to many nutters around!

Im always lecturing OH about leaving our sprogs in the car.... Even when he'd moan and say he was just going to nip in the shop to pay for petrol id still make him promise to take them in with him!!

I always take the keys out the ignition when filling up petrol at the pay at the pump petrol station. Even though I'm next to the car anyone could jump in and drive off. I make DH take the keys out the ignition even when I'm sat in the passenger seat  . There was a story a little while ago about a woman emptying her boot at the bottle bank and someone jumped in her car and drove off with her young child still in the car.

I thought you had to do that or wouldnt the petrol like spray everywhere when you fill it up cos of the engine is on?

Either way yeah I always try and do the pay at the pump option so that situation doesn't arise.

Engine off but keys still in ignition. I have a little lever in the car to open flappy thing for petrol so don't need key for petrol cap. I'm obsessed with taking keys out. I ran into a garage once when I was pregnant and came back 1 minute later and my handbag had gone as I hadnt locked the door :wall: . Can't turn your bak for a second nowadays

I have a button too and no key thing in the petrol cap I just thought the petrol would come out if the key was in (like with the radio on or whatever) cos surely the engines still gotta be doing something?
I'm no good at these things.

Either way the moral of the story is dont come to a petrol station with me cos u cant have the radio on while im filling up. :D

ps sorry to ruin the thread with my stoopidity, its an important and real thing that happens and i wasnt trying to joke. x

Oh my!

I've always been paranoid about being a passenger and the driver leaving the keys in the ignition. The joke is 'THEY'D GIVE THE CAR BACK IF THEY REALISED IT WAS YOU SITTING NEXT TO THEM!'

I am paranoid though, always have been!
