Really struggling to get anywhere near as excited about this baby as I feel I should be doing.
I really don't feel like shouting from the roof tops that I'm expecting and I just feel a bit like Im trying my best to hide the whole pregnancy thing away :(

I just want to feel excited like everyone else seems to be doing about going buying clothes and stuff for the baby but I just cant at all! It feels like its the last thing I want to do and I feel like the only reason I actually look forward to nursery decorating is for the interior design aspect of it, not for baby's sake :(!

When do you think the excitement will actually arrive? :(

Oh hun, don't beat yourself up over it. My best friend had all the maternal instinct of a male rhino and hated being pregnant, she said she regretted it every day but as soon as she held her Alfie in her arms she completely crumbled and fell so head over heels in love with him. That's when she started to get excited. Pregnancy can make you feel so crap physically and emotionally and everyone is different.
Once you have your lo you will be so happy :) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ul be ok Hun and the excitement will come. Just all the hormones and the shock of it sometimes isn't it. totally life changing x

I must say I have been feeling so nauseous and uncomfortable, both OH and I have been looking at this experience more like me being ill than anything else.

Things have started to change a bit though since we had the last scan and found out he was a boy, we've started to like him more each day! And I'm sure it'll be a complete revelation for all of us when we can see and hold our babies

Finding out the sex helped me bond a lot more. Before that I was just worried that everything was ok. Now I'm feeling strong movement everyday has also helped me boind even more.

However I'm more nervous than excited just coz I want all the work done on the house and then I can do some serious nesting. Once I know everything is done I'll start looking forward to it.

Try not to worry - everyone's different. I though I'd be shouting from the rooftops and buying everything in sight, but im really not, so your not the only one.

xxx

im not really excited, it dosent mean i dont love my lo, just that i cant get excited about something i cant see or touch. im just not an exciteable person. i wouldnt feel bad hunnie. im sure you will be so excited to actually hold your baby once its here.

I'm a bit like ISH having been so utterly ill all these weeks I haven't really got excited at all, having had MC's & MMC I guess I've got used to not getting excited:roll:

My SIL sent us a parcel yesterday with a beautiful pink fleecey sleepsuit and some pink bibs...........I must have seemed so ungrateful I'm just not that excited by it all!!

I agree Bev I think it's because I can't see or touch her yet, when she's here I'll believe it!!

Iv been pretty much the same too but Iv seen other people as non maternal as me freak out the whole 9 months too and be the most devoted mammy so im not too stresses over it i do think it will all kick in when the time comes

Im trying to get excited buying stuff and all that but its more excitement about shopping LOL but as my friend asked me would I consider not having it the answer is a definite NO so I think it just takes some of us till the birth to get that buzz others have from day 1

Try not to let it get you down hun :)

lol i hate shopping anyway, just cos its for babs dosent make it any more fun, ive got a few basics, need a few more sleepsuits and thats it. really hate shopping....

I've kind of decided just to get the basics and then buy more stuff when she's actually here. I love shopping for OH or myself as I can see the clothes worn afterwards but when they're just sat there I'm a bag looking exactly the same
as they did on the hanger I don't enjoy them lol. Saw sort of nephew today and he made me smile so I definitely do think a lot of you ladies are correct in what you're saying about actually enjoying it all once the baby is here :)

I attempted to go baby shopping today! It ended up me going elsewhere after 10 mins and shopping for towels instead lol!
