Can you express with a nipple shield on?

As the title puts it really!

May be a stupid question but I'm trying to get bubba back on the boob. I need to get milk into the teat of the shield before latching but am a bit confused how to do this!

A bit unsure what you're trying to do, but could you hand express a few drops and rub it into the shield?

I was trying to get a decent amount into the shield to give him a bit of a head start! It didn't work though, never mind worth a try!
