My OH received a birthday card from a mate of mine Saturday. This woman can be very sweet (I used to work with her) but also could be a bit of a stirrer between work collegues! Her OH is the one I have mentioned before who thinks it's funny to be uber smutty, which I put a stop to regarding me the other month and he says things like he enjoys looking at young school girls on the bus...fook off!!!

Anyway the card I suppose was a nice gesture, but did she have to write my OH's name and then my surname on the envelope...which is still my married name! She knows it is not his surname, that it is my name from arsehole!

I text her and told her that it was a bit of a shock seeing Mr ***** on the envelope. As usual she didn't seem to realize that I was upset, she just said sorry, adds xxx's (kisses) and says good luck with the baby which she seems to say every time she texts!

She has said a few times in front of me (joking) that she's jealous that I'm having a baby, maybe it is just a joke. What I really want to say though is that maybe if that lazy so and so (she is getting married to this year) got off his fat backside and found a job maybe they could have a baby together!

She comes across so sweet, sickly and over the top friendly most of the time that sometimes I wonder if it is really that genuine!

I agree lou, I just end up feeling quite irritated by her now. Also the fact that she used to say, and a couple of times even sent me smutty texts of what her OH was saying about me has made me feel quite hostile towards her. I would never do that!

ugh That sounds yucky. I had an old friend who turned into a right twat. I cut her off, best way to deal with people who turn a bit weird. Trust your instincts I say because people do change over time and familiarity breeds contempt

Sounds like a snidey little cow to me, and you can bet your life that she knew exactly what she was doing with the whole name thing.

Sad fact of life that some people hate to see others happy and go out of their way to try and cause misery, even if its low level.

But act so nicely, sweet, that noone can see it.

And if you ever think she is being like that, people will defend her and say oh no so and so isnt like that.
When in reality, they are.

It sounds like she is trying to stir up trouble. I mean, if she wanted to mix up your names she could have just put Mr Kaz. Mentioning past partners to current ones is bad form. And a real friend would know and avoid that can of worms.
