Hi everyone,

Ive been told to go see doctor after 12 months ttc. As above really, is this strictly 12 calendar months or 12 menstrual months? I hope the latter as that's now lol, I just dont wanna get turned away again!

Hiya, For me it worked out the same either way but I was paying more attention to the cycles. I just went and told them it was coming up to a year of ttc and they started some basic tests ready for the referral. Its horrible when it feels like you get fobbed off, hope they get things moving for you xx

Thanks Lisey. I have it in my head that I really want to do it naturally but then what's the point in a bfp being put off if it doesn't have to be? What did they do at your referral? I've already had a clear HSG (not as a result of ttc) and when I saw a dr a few months back she said there was no point running bloods because my cycles are regular so I *must* be ovulating.... What next if HSG clear and apparently no need for bloods? Where are you with your referral now?

I count it in cycles but tell the docs its in months as I have shorter cycles.
Good luck xx

I had my appointment earlier in the year, they sent me for a hsg and a pelvic scan and a more detailed SA for my OH (he had two previous SA's which showed low and then borderline motility). His SA was perfect the last time after a few months of vitamins. We fell pregnant straight after the hsg but unfortunately miscarried for the third time. The fertility section wouldn't see us anymore. Now awaiting appointment with recurrent miscarriage clinic.
I had day 21 bloods done, even though I had gotten pregnant, so to me, it was obvious I was ovulating but they said it was part of the protocol when investigating infertility. One of my doctors did say to me that if you are regular and opks show positive at the right time then you are most likely ovulating but of course the bloods would confirm it. Maybe ask again and say you are worried and anxious about it and they may do them for you xx
