has anyone felt 'butterflies' yet? and if so when did you start getting them and what do they feel like?

there feel so amazing.. it feel like a butterflies flying a round i your tummy, someone tickling you from inside
in the lower abdomen.. but you do notice them.. they start a round this time.. i got my 1st lot at 10 weeks bang on for the whole night it just feel wonderful

hope i helped

I've been getting these feelings really sporadically for ages but didn't want to post about it in case people thought I was being silly.

Very occasionally I get the feeling someone has stuck a knife in my tummy and is twisting it - it's not unpleasant though - but just like flutterings. That's how I imagine it - not the best way to describe it, but the only way I can!

I have definitely noticed the butterflies over this weekend. When I had my 12 week scan on Friday the baby was really moving about. I think he/she is going to be either a footballer or a dancer judging by the movements!

This may sound like a silly question but why do you get butterflies when your pregnant? I found out last week that i'm pregnant i'm not 100% sure how far gone i'am but I do have a little bump already and I have noticed I get butterflies!

Hi

Ive been getting them since 13 weeks as well, it feels like light flutters in my tummy :)
Vickyleigh- sounds like you could be close to the 3 month point. Do you go for a scan anytime soon ? if not i would ask for an early one to find out
Katrina

I hope I'am close to 3 months that would be good. I went to the doctors last wednesday and filled out a midwife referral form and it said a midwife would contact me within the next 2 weeks and that was a week ago. So I guess I have to wait for the midwife to send me for a scan. What does the midwife do the first time you see her?

they mainly just take all your medical info about you and your partner and mine did my height and weight and discussed my options for screenin tests for downs etc...
that was about it then a week later i received a letter tellin me my scan date

congrats on the pregnancy vickyleigh, is this your first?

Yep it's my very first pregnancy so it's all new to me. I rang the midwife a couple of hours ago and requested a scan to find out how far gone I'am, she rang me back and i've got my first scan on Thursday at 11am! I can't wait to have the scan i'm really excited about it.

thats rgeat news about the scan good luck :D

its amazing!! and dead emotional

Thanks

I just know as soon as I see the baby on the screen I will cry but in a good way of course :D

yea i think thats pretty normal well it is for me, i've cried at every single scan lol especially the first one

its great tho!! :cheer:

wow - I didn't realise buterflies happened that early..... I thought I had at least another month before my next "milestone" :D

I thought I was getting butterflies because I'm excited about the baby

to be honest topbird altho there arent any hard n fast rules i'd say your normally about 17 wks + with your first before you start to feel anything and then it tends to get earlier with susequent pregnancies i reckon i was over 20 wks when i first felt my first moving.

but its not unheard of for women to feel there babies move earlier than that
