Mine does this sometimes too - it feels really hard and tight, almost as though I'm about to pop like a balloon! My belly button still has a little bit of depth to it though, but I don't know how much longer it will stay that way...
I just put it down to Flipper being right at the front too - then when he moves and my belly feels less 'tight' I start worrying because my bump feels smaller
Yup sounds to me like baby is at the front.. possible got himself into a bit of an odd position, one you've not felt before so it feels strange. I get the same from time to time. One minnute I'll feel her all settled down low and the next thing I know, after alot of movement.. she's moved up above my belly button and it goes all hard. Try having a bit of a walk around.. it usually settles him back down again into a more comfortable position for you.
On the other hand.. it could very well be Braxton Hicks as Shiney said..
Bump got very tight again last night and left me feeling uncomfortable...think she must have been pushing right at the front 'cause I lay on my back and there was some funny ripples going across my belly button area! She as kicking about like mad last night so that's probably all it was xxx
