Bumbos

Arianna hardly used it.... I have one that was used like 3 times if you want it!!

Although ours is the lionheart one rather than the bumbo

Didn't she like it or did you just find it easier for her to sit up on her own?

I found it easier for her to sit alone, and she prefered sitting alone. She would go in it then after a couple of mins want out

Weren't some recalled because some babies fell out of them?

I never used one but my SIL does and hers even has a tray that you can slip on the front for toys or finger foods :)

Grace used hers for about 2 weeks - she sat up quite early on her own and after that wouldn't used her bumbo - sat in the loft now with all the other things we bought that didn't get used........ but in saying that, my friend has one and her little girl loves sitting in hers and she has used it for months and months

Hmm maybe I wont get one - no one seems v keen.
What about a playnest?

If your LO will sit in it happily I think they'd be great, Isaac hated his from day one, waste of money in his case
Never had a playnest either, just use cushions, much easier and they don't take up anymore space than they already are as household items :D

think Jam had it a mth then resold it, he was out of it within 5mins of gettin it

They issued some extra safety notices because someone put their baby in one on a table  the baby fell out :( Basically they said don't put them on raised surfaces.

Got to say it was one of my best baby equipment buys. Evie adored hers and spent hours in it, she was far too nosey as a baby and would cry if she was left lying on the floor so it meant she could sit up and see what was going on, I used to just move it around the house with me as I was doing jobs.

Scarlett loved her with a passsion, i used it as all the time before she was able to sit up unaided x

A waste of money... Keeley started to sit up on her own about 2 weeks after i got her a bumbo then she would push herself out of it

Eefie hated his and is out of it in seconds (he arches his back to release his legs then he's off)

Gets used more as a toy he can roll around now

We got Ryan his when he was 4 months and he didn't use it a great deal. He can sit up on his own now so it's a bit pointless, he doesn't like sitting still so he just tries to climb out all the time. I think it all depends on what your baby is like, if they're quite easy going then they might sit in it but if they're anything like Ryan they'll probably get bored quite quickly.

The price is a bit steep too, £30

Ours is on ebay as we speak  :?

We got Ryan one just before Christmas and also bought the tray to go on it. He's come out of it once cos he saw something on the floor he was intent on having. He didn't hurt himself, he just lifted his leg over the middle piece and pulled himself out.

We honestly think it was a good buy.. yeah it cost us £40 when you include the tray, but they sell on ebay for quite a bit anyway so it doesn't matter that we won't get the full price back as we'll get quite a bit of it back.

If you do get one, check out ebay and local papers for a cheaper one (though bear the postage into consideration on ebay) and I would definately recommend the tray that goes with it. Without it on Ryan sort of flops about a bit in it but with it on he'll sit up properly and can put toys on the tray too.

Ryan can't sit up on his own yet btw, if that's a factor.

Thea could sit herself up by 5 months but even so she loved her bumbo. It was great for us with the tray because we used it for BLW because she was too little for her highchair at 6 months.
